Loading Google Adwords Data into R

What it does

Pulls Google Ads (AdWords) performance data directly into R for analysis and reporting.

When to use it
  • •You need to combine ad performance metrics with other business data in R for dashboards or models.
  • •You want to automate regular (daily/weekly) downloads of Google Ads reports without manual CSV exports.
  • •Your data science team works in R and you want a programmatic, repeatable way to fetch raw ad data.
Ready-to-paste prompt
```R
# Get keyword‑level performance for the past month and export to CSV
library(RAdwords)
auth <- doAuth()
kwReport <- list(
  reportName = "Keyword Performance",
  dateRange = "LAST_30_DAYS",
  dimensions = c("CampaignId", "AdGroupId", "KeywordId", "KeywordText"),
  columns = c("Clicks", "Impressions", "AverageCpc", "Cost", "Conversions", "ConversionRate"),
  selector = NULL,
  includeZeroImpressions = FALSE
)
kwData <- getReportData(auth, kwReport)
write.csv(kwData, "adwords_keywords_last30d.csv", row.names = FALSE)
```
Heads up: You must have a valid Google Ads developer token and OAuth client ID/secret; without these the `doAuth()` step will fail. Set up the credentials in the Google API Console and enable the Google Ads API before using the package.
