What it does

psf-guard watches your astrophotography folders, tags images with metadata, and automatically syncs them to a cloud storage target.

When to use it
  • •You capture hundreds of FITS/PNG files each night and need a hands‑free way to organize them.
  • •You want to back up raw astrophotography assets to S3 (or another remote) without writing custom scripts.
  • •You need automatic renaming and metadata extraction (exposure, ISO, target) for later cataloguing.
Ready-to-paste prompt
psf-guard watch --config ./my-psf-guard.toml --log-level debug
Heads up: psf-guard requires the AWS CLI credentials (`AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID` and `AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY`) to be set in the environment for S3 sync; without them the `sync` command will fail.
